ZEI follows the prescribed curriculum as specified and approved by the Department of Education. The Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) is the fundamental guideline for Secondary Education.
The main feature of BEC is active learning where the focus is on the learner and the learning process. The learning areas are: Filipino, English, Mathematics, Science and Makabayan. Makabayan is composed of subjects: Technology, Livelihood Education (T.L.E.); Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH); Araling Panlipunan and Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga. Citizens’ Advancement Training (CAT) is added for Grade 10 students.
At ZEI, Introduction to Computer with hands-on workshops on Microsoft Word and Excel are taught from Grade 7 to Grade 10. The passing of the Republic Act 10533 officially known as K-12 Law will implement Grade 11 and Grade 12 as part of the secondary education. ZEI now offers Grades 11 and 12, after complying with DepEd requirements. ZEI Senior High School offers the General Academic Strand (GAS) with specializations in English, Mathematics, and Science.
The concept of “Center for Total Human Development” encompasses both the academic courses as well physical and natural sciences (i.e., athletics or sports, natural world of living elements...gardening, cooking, livelihood) and moral doctrines of honor and thanksgiving to our almighty and creator.

/ ATHLETICS
Sports play a major role in the human development program at ZEI. Students excel in basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and chess. For a period of time, the female volleyball team at ZEI was considered the best in the entire town of Aguilar. To this day, the basketball team of ZEI regularly competes in intramurals against teams in the Western Pangasinan region as well as competed amongst local select barangay teams.

The basketball court is currently under construction for resurfacing and widening the court by two meter.
Volleyball
Volleyball is a popular sport for girls at ZEI, our students regularly competes in the region

Badminton has a considerable following for both boys and girls, our student-athletes are developing in this sport

/ CULTURE AND ARTS
The Theater Arts and Traditional Dance Troupe are representative dancers, actors, actresses and singers from each grade level provide special presentations during occasions such as monthly school events, Christmas programs, graduations and the like.
CULTURAL PERFORMANCES
PRIDE OF ZEI AND AGUILAR
The Drum and Lyre Corp with their cheerleaders provide “art and culture” presentations during town fiestas and other municipality-sponsored programs in Aguilar. With it's coveted and distinguished honors as two-time national champions, the ZEI DLC is the pride of the people of Aguilar, and the envy of other schools in nearby barangays.
MUSICAL GROUPS
The Musical Choir at ZEI provides angelic voices during masses at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aguilar. They also render liturgical music during graduation and thanksgiving memorial masses.
Our students also engage in modern hip-hop dance and music. They are a staple performance during programs and events.
